Donating a Vehicle

When donating your vehicle, you need to transfer ownership to the receiving company or organization. You must have a title to transfer ownership on any vehicle with a model year of 1986 or newer. Use the area designated for the seller on the back of your Georgia title to transfer ownership; this is the first assignment area. All other assignment areas are for dealers only.

If your vehicle is model year 1985 or older, you may use a bill of sale to transfer ownership. A Georgia title is not required on these vehicles.  

After donating your vehicle, cancel the registration online.  You will need the tag number or VIN and your driver's license number.
