The Office Assistant is responsible for performing fiscal support activities related to processing higher-level fiscal documents requiring knowledge and experience in the area of assignment. This position will also serve as a liaison between assigned section or division and other employees, external agencies, the general public, and/or other interested parties.

Essential Duties:

  • Responds to inquiries from employees, vendors, and/or other interested parties regarding payment, purchase status, and/or other related information.
  • Files and maintains financial records, logs and forms.
  • Performs audits of financial activities and procedures.
  • Records, analyzes, verifies, reconciles and reports financial transactions.
  • Data entry of information contained on financial documents.
  • Prepares a variety of reports related to financial activities.
  • Gathers data and information in support of budgetary preparation activities.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties which may include typing, answering phones, filing, copying, faxing, opening and disbursement of mail and other related activities.

The Tax Services Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and management of an assigned business unit. Duties include supervising staff, conducting performance appraisals, overseeing staff training, preparing various reports, assisting in establishing goals and objectives for the department, and completing assigned projects.
This position is responsible for the collection and processing of property taxes and motor vehicle taxes, fees, and penalties in compliance with mandated requirements and established procedures. The ability to handle complex and unique situations is required.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Assists in the overall management of the division to include handling complex customer issues and reviewing all correspondence and reports.
  • Provides technical assistance to other departments regarding tax/tag issues.
  • Attends and participates in meetings regarding the department.
  • Assists with preparing the annual budget for the department to include analyzing expenditures and projecting future needs.
  • Performs other duties of similar nature or level.

This position entails fiduciary responsibility, and requires a background check to include motor vehicle and criminal histories.
